MR. DO MAME CABINET - home | day 1
Eventually I will put this in a digestible format. For now I just want to get the pictures up. It will take a minute to load.
Here's where it all begins.. a 15 inch monitor.. a vinyl marquee overlay cropped do 18 3/4 inches.. a generic Mr Do! control panel overlay and some controls. Oh.. it's on.
Since I didn't bring my vision to life in a 3d program like my last project I figured I'd wing this one. I wanted to build a Mr Do! MAME machine for my brother's birthday but he lives in an apartment and has way too much shit already. So what better then a table top machine. It will give him a reason to clean off his table.
So I saw someone online somewhere saying they like to mock up their cabinets with cardboard. It helps them work out design issues, etc. Since I am getting tired of sitting at a computer all day I decided to forego the 3d model and do some arts and crafts.
Good thing I did because man.. this thing turned out to have to be huge to accomodate the monitor. The way it's angled and the circuit board on the monitor added about 3-5 inches to the total depth even without the casing which I removed.

As you can see.. this thing is pretty big to be sitting on someone's table and I can bet that it won't be nearly as light as this cardboard mock up.
Time to sleep and think about what to do. Maybe something will come to me tomorrow. I really didn't want to build something this big.
